Haiku My Heart ~ Water

leagoodeharrisfeet.jpg

power of water
from the sky and from this wand
washes all anew

I love gadgets and tools.
The farm girl in me never tires of physical labor
or getting dirty...

So despite the unusually heavy Spring storms hitting our North Coast,
I can be found in the patches of sun peeking through,
or even when raining,
doing what seems improbable for a very wet day...
like power-washing the patio, the deck,
the front walk-way,
the fences...

And... here it is, day #82 of walking my Santa Rosa Labyrinth
every day for 108 days in-a-row this new year...
Finding wild beauty in unexpected places.

Haiku My Heart ~ Promises

Plum blossoms from my Santa Rosa Plum Trees

Plum blossoms from my Santa Rosa Plum Trees

a promise of spring
encoded in each petal
listen with your heart

Day #54 (I'm half way!) of walking my Santa Rosa Labyrinth
every day for 108 days in-a-row this new year...
Finding wild beauty in unexpected places.

Haiku My Heart ~ Wings of Sun

See these wings of sun,
before taking to the skies,
still... for the moment...

It was quite incredible
to have this Eastern Swallowtail Butterfly pause,
right in my garden
and allow me to be so close...

I wanted to stroke that furry back of his...
but was content
to be in awe of this great beauty
and have the opportunity to share it with you...
